American Earth is a new voice in American environmentalism.
Launched June 28, 2026, American Earth champions patriotic environmentalism. Inspired by the history of the United States and the environmental movement itself, patriotic environmentalism holds that the first priority of the US environmental movement should be protecting the US environment. Not because it’s better, but because it is ours — our piece of the planet, our American Earth, our home.
American Earth is a project of IndieCitizen Media LLC (aka IndieCitizen). Based in Sarasota, Florida, IndieCitizen publishes public policy information from a politically independent perspective.
Rafael DeGennaro, founder of American Earth and IndieCitizen, has worked on environmental policy as staff to members of Congress and as project director for Friends of the Earth. Later he led Taxpayers for Common Sense to work in coalition with hundreds of environmental organizations at the grassroots and national levels.
